Our debut album came out this Monday, March 31st 2014! Check it out on the Music/Merch page and thanks in advance if you bought one. We've got a busy schedule this Spring/Summer. We've already got a lot of new material in the works in addition to the songs from our debut that we'll be test driving at those shows. We're very anxious to see where these songs take us (and you hopefully) and we can't wait to be back recording. Hope to see you soon.

It's been a while since we checked in but we've been pretty busy in the last year. We've wrapped up our debut LP and are looking forward to releasing it in March so, tell everyone. The Low Counts have been together for a year and three months now and we're happy with our progress. Also, we're lining up festival dates and are looking forward to having a busy summer. We've already started working on some new material and we're happy with how these new songs are developing. Some will make it to the next album, some won't, but we're having fun exploring and furthering our sound and seeing where it takes us. We appreciate everybody who has come out to our shows and for your kind words and support. We're having a lot of fun and we're looking forward to what's in store for the LC's this year. Busy day here and time to get back at it, but I noticed this blog needed an update. Hope see all of you soon.  - Matt

We're back from a successful midwest run, lotta fun and great audiences at the shows, sold all of our EPs we took with us too. Our friend Jesse Major in Wichita, KS added some bass to our show out there and it was bitchin' to have him with us. He's the only bass player we'd probably ever consider playing with us. We're back booking stuff for the Spring and Summer and we'll be wrapping up our album this month as well. We made it up to the St Louis arch while we were there, man I've never seen two dudes so scared of heights. They put you in a small pod and shoot you up there, it takes four minutes. For a while we were High Counts. That's all now, hopefully the next blog post will be to tell you our album has dropped. Thanks to all who came out to support our midwest shows.

The Low Counts head out to the midwest for five days this Thursday. We'll be hitting some really cool spots, I'm looking forward to it, but hate to leave my dog and cat for that long. We've been pretty busy going up the highway, but somehow in the last week, I think we managed to record an album in two 5 hour sessions. We're taking a break from it till we get back from the road and then we'll go in, touch in up, mix, master and get it going I hope. Recording is the easy part, finding the money to push it, not so easy. We'll keep our fingers crossed, somehow we usually manage to make something out of nothing. Speaking of which, shit, the El Bisa has a broken tunning post. Maybe I'm the guitar surgeon I thought I was. Well, that's all for now, come see us if we come see you. Out - Matt

We're getting ready to set out on a five day Midwest run at the end of this month and we've just about gathered all the stuff we need to begin recording an album (hopefully this month). To quote the movie 'Barfly', we've "got the guts but the guts need fuel'!  We'll be getting together this week to work on/write some more songs as well. Minor scare the other week with the 'El Bisa', the bastardized guitar I mainly I use live, but it's okay now. I almost had a shit fit when I thought I might not be able repair it before the show, I love that guitar. Thankfully I'm a great guitar surgeon. December was a good month for us, did some pretty bitchin' shows to some very enthisiastic crowds and made some new fans (prospects). We don't have much booked for January, but we're trying to step it and be booking bosses for the Spring/Summer. I think we may have a good contact for some shows in New York and Philly, we'll see how that goes, it'd be cool to get up that way. Anyway, just dropping a line, come catch a show and say hi. Well, we're working on getting an album together, money seems to be the enemy here, but we're working on it. Thinking about a Kickstarter. Did a nice run of shows last week, the Blue Note was cool in Durham, NC. We thought we'd be too loud, but they really dug it. The next night we played in Richmond, VA at Hardywood Park Brewery and it was awesome. I've never seen so many people eager to make/drink high gravity beers, the lowest was 8.5 %. I'm sure volume didn't bother them. Sunday found us playing as part of the Coney Island Rock n Roll tour. Burlesque dancers, fire eaters and some dude who took down his pants, threw a metal bucket over his junk, lit a pack of black cat firecrakers and threw them in the bucket to explode (which they did). How do you follow that shit? The same dude lifted my pedal suitcase with strings attached to his eyeballs. I know, just don't ask. We did a great show with left Lane Cruiser and John the Conqueror last Thursday. Totally enjoyed both of there sets, rad bands, check 'em out.
