The A.R.T.S. was formed to honor the life, legacy and the impact that Austin Levi Hicks made on his peers and community. He was not only a gifted musician, singer and songwriter but also a young man who uplifted the human spirit in his day to day encounter with people. Austin had compassion for all people and wanted to raise awareness of what was happening in the world outside of the small town of Pilot Mountain, NC, where he was born and raised. His vision for Pilot was that it would one day have a space for young artists and creative beings to develop their artistic ideas and have opportunities to manifest.The A.R.T. S. will provide resources and opportunities for young artists between the ages of 13 and 25 to further develop their training by providing scholarships for private lessons, seminars, workshops, equipment or supplies.
